What is our CPR & AED course?
Our Qualsafe Level 3 Award in BLS and Safe Use of an AED (RQF). is a short hour practical course designed to give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to assess an emergency safely, provide basic life support and use an automated external defibrillator on adults, children and infants. It is designed for people who may need to respond to life-threatening emergencies in the workplace, voluntary roles or community settings.
Who is our CPR & AED course for?
This course is suitable for people with a specific interest or responsibility in providing basic life support, including those working in healthcare, pre-hospital care, community response or other environments where immediate emergency care may be required. It is also suitable for learners who need age-specific CPR and AED training for adults, children and infants.
What does our CPR & AED course cover?
On this practical and interactive course, learners will cover:
How to assess an emergency situation safely through scene survey and primary survey.
How and when to summon appropriate assistance.
When CPR should be started in an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.
Adult, child and infant CPR.
Safe use of an AED on adults, children and infants.
Age-specific considerations when delivering CPR and using an AED.
How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
How to place an adult, child or infant into the recovery position.
How to continually monitor breathing and airway once a casualty is in the recovery position.
How do we assess our CPR & AED course?
Learners are assessed throughout the course by practical observation in line with the qualification requirements. There are 5 mandatory practical assessments:
Adult CPR and safe use of an AED
CPR and AED considerations
Unconscious casualty
Learners must successfully meet the required standard in all mandatory assessment areas to achieve the qualification.
How do we certify our Basic Life Support course?
Successful learners will achieve the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in BLS and Safe Use of an AED (RQF).
