














FOFA | Fundamentals of Outdoor First Aid
What is our FOFA course?
Over 1 extended day, learners will be prepared for a range of outdoor first aid situations by acquiring the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with: stabilising and insulating casualties, cardiac arrest, blood loss, choking, unconsciousness, drowning, medical conditions and more.
Learners who complete Qualsafe Level 3 Award in the Fundamentals of Outdoor First Aid (RQF) can use their certification as a stepping stone to complete the 2-day Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid qualification. Learners would only need to attend the second day of a Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid (RQF) course to also gain this regulated qualification.
Who is our FOFA course for?
This qualification is for outdoor first aiders with close access to further support from others. It is for people in roles such as outdoor instructors, sports coaches, primary or secondary teachers or rural visit leaders.

How do we assess our FOFA course?
5 x Practical assessments
1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper).
How do we certify our FOFA course?
Upon successful completion the candidates will receive the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in the Fundamentals of Outdoor First Aid (RQF) certificate.
